Commonly celebrated holidays include; Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, and 4th of July. We talk about how there is a lack of recognition of non-Christian based holidays and the Westernization of them. Going deeper, the capitalism behind holidays are the driving force of how we celebrate them. To conclude, there is no right way to celebrate a holiday, and the expectations, shame and pressure to do so are what can make holiday celebrations isolating.

We discuss the killing of 8 people in Atlanta, Georgia, 6 of which were Asian women, across 3 spa locations and interpret foundations of white supremacy, racism, and sexism in connection to this hate crime. Please do these 8 lives justice by taking the time to internalize the systems that lead to this event. Do your part in being actively anti-racist.
