As we conclude our sermon series in James, we are drawn back to all of the major subjects of the letter. One over arching theme seems to be sticking out in all of them. One of the hardest disciplines to learn is patience. Patience does not mean tolerate, but enduring. We all have things that are favorites for us--favorite foods, favorite TV shows, favorite songs, favorite athletes, etc. As we begin the second chapter of James, we quickly learn that when it comes to people, if we want to have a faith that works, we are not to show favoritism.
