As we continue to draw from the Little Black Book for Lent, today we look at liturgical prayer--attending mass--and the ways it blesses our prayer life.

What is the hardest thing to give up for Lent? We share a few thoughts before diving into our first Lenten Sunday reflection, which will focus on prayer each week. 

We all want to be good. But how do we do that? How do we get goodness inside of us? What do we do? Today we reflect with Bishop Ken on how to listen the Lord and to get goodness in our hearts.

Forgive, love, give. These are core tenants of Christianity, but while the words seem simple, the act of these can be some of the most challenging and counter-cultural things we will ever do. Join us, and spend some quiet time with Bishop Ken and the Lord. 

Blessed. It's a word we hear often. We see it printed on towels, and painted onto walls, but what does it mean to be blessed? Spend some quiet time with the Lord and reflect.

What is the difference, according to our teachings and beliefs, between when Jesus would preach the "word of God" to people, and what is spoken to us in mass every Sunday? Reflect on our living gospel and more with Bishop Ken while we spend a little quiet time with the Lord. 

To be the watchman or the aged...that is the question we reflect upon with Bishop Ken today. What happens to our spirit when we watch, simply wanting to be someone we are not, or when we are too afriad to grow into something different? Both can leave us in turmoil. What makes us Christians? Part of what makes our faith so incredible is the great truths of it are so magnificent, so immense, they can be larger than our minds. It is these same truths which we celebrate and continue to study with fresh minds each liturgical season. Today with Bishop Ken, we reflect on a truly magnificent truth - that God became one of us and stayed one of us. Join us and spend some quiet time with the Lord. 

What would a parent want for their child? Would we want our children to live in a bubble, free from any trials and pain, or would we want them to grow, become strong, and capable? Today with Bishop Ken, we reflect on God's providence, and what it means to live according to his vision instead of our own. Spend some quiet time with the Lord and think about his love, and what the endlessness of that truly means.
