Pastor Gray continues his sermon on Romans 8:4-11 about walking according to the flesh or according to the Spirit.

If your mind is set on the things of the earth, you will seek earthly pleasures. But if your mind is set on the Spirit, you seek the things of the Spirit. When Christ dwells within you, you don't want to sin, but if you do, we have an advocate, that is, Christ Jesus. 

Walking in the Spirit is not about living a perfect life, it's about being led by the Spirit as you walk.

Pastor Gray expounds on Romans 8: being delivered from the Law. 

We should read Romans 6, 7, and 8 as one chapter. They lay out 

The blood of Christ frees us from sin! But In the first century church, the Judaizers insisted that born-again believers still follow the Mosaic Law. Many believers today still try to live by the Law. But the Law only covers sin; the blood of Christ takes it away.  

Are you trying to keep the Law or are you resting in the shed blood of Jesus Christ?

Guest speaker Richard Koss discusses his testimony, stories from his prison ministry, and the power of prayer. 

Today, Richard has a powerful prison ministry, but he and his wife come from criminal backgrounds. Between them they have 70 arrests. But Richard had a praying grandmother, which brought about the circumstances that led him to salvation. He shares the salvation stories of several other hardened criminals who found the Lord while in prison because of a praying relative.

Pastor Gray continues his message from last week from John 15, focusing on verse 7. 

God wants us to abide in Him as He abides in us. To abide is to remain, and we cannot bear fruit apart from Him. And fruit is the life of Jesus in us--doing the same works Christ did: healing, delivering, and leading people to salvation. 

Are you abiding in Christ? Are you bearing fruit?

Pastor Gray preaches from John 15, abiding in the vine and being pruned. 

Every believer has giftings, and we will stand before Christ to give account of how we used them. As we abide in the vine, we will bear fruit, and God, as the vinedresser will prune us as needed in order that we may bear more fruit. 

God expects us to use our gifting and to bear fruit. Are you using your gifting and bearing fruit?

Pastor Gray continues his examination of Hebrews 9:27, that it isn't about dying but about living. 

God has given gifts to all of us. He wants us to use those gifts, as the parable of the talents illustrates. God was angry with the servant who buried his talent. 

What giftings has God given you? What are you doing with it? When you stand before the judgment seat of Christ what will the fire reveal about how you used your giftings?

Pastor Gray examines the topic of judgment and looks at Hebrews 9:27, "it is appointed unto men once to die." 

The unbeliever (spiritually dead) will face the great white throne of God's judgment. The authentic believer will stand before the judgment (bema) seat of Christ. 

In ancient times, the bema seat was a raised platform where judges evaluated contestants of athletic games and distributed rewards. This is what Christ does for us when we stand before His judgment seat. It is not about determining our salvation, but examining how we've used our God-given gifts and rewarding us accordingly.

Pastor Gray preaches from Isaiah 1 on the rebelliousness of God's people and what He planned to do about their lack of faith. 

God got their attention and  told them how he planned to deal with them. We talk a good story, but do we have the faith to live the Scriptures God has given us? God has done for us exactly what He said he would do for the Israelites--He brought us a Savior.

Hebrews 11:1 AMP says, "Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed)." And God is pleased when we enter His throne room to use our title deed.
