This week, instead of a typical worship service with a sermon, we celebrated the season with a Christmas cantata. A cantata tells the whole story of Christmas, beginning with the prophecies in the Hebrew Bible, running through the hopes and expectations of the children of Israel, and culminating on Christmas night, when Jesus Christ entered the world as a baby. We hope you find this longer recording worshipful and meaningful during this season of Advent, and pray that you will make space in your heart and life for Jesus to enter, and then go and share the story of Christmas with the world!
Appalachian Winter was arranged by Joseph M. Martin, and published in 2013 by Harold Flammer Music, a division of Shawnee Press, Inc.
A huge thank you both to our Director of Music, Yvonda Kisor, and to our Chancel Choir for all their work on this!
