Psalms - Praying With God's People - As we begin a series of messages from the book of Psalms, we begin with an exploration of the first Psalm, Psalm 1, which serves as an introduction to the Psalter. For centuries this book has been central in the prayer life of Gods people and the first Psalm prepares us to pray by alerting us to the fact that we are each confronted with a choice between two radically different ways of walking through life. We discover that we all live before the God who has revealed himself to humanity and we must choose whether to live in light of Him and his self-revelation or to reject him and live according to our own agenda. What will become clear is that it is only through faith in Jesus, the one and only righteous one, that we enter into the Way of life with God, the way that gives us hope and a glorious future.

In this final message in our series on Gods Good Design for Gender and Sexuality, we ask some important questions and consider some of the ways in which people, both outside and inside the church, think about and approach sexuality. The key truth that we discover is that the way forward is rooted, not in a focus on rule-keeping but rather on Jesus who loves us and has given himself for us. Learning to walk in obedience sexually arises from walking intimately with Jesus who invites each of us to come to him as we are to find rest and hope.

Though we do not encounter these terms in the Bible, the scriptures do have something important to say as we consider this complex topic. We all experience sexual brokenness and for some, this is an experience of painful incongruence between their body and their sense of who they are. But the answer to this brokenness will only be found through surrender to Jesus. The good news is that, through repentance and faith, we are made new new creations in Christ and find our true identity in him.There is great hope in Jesus for every person who is sexually broken and there is a great need for the church to live as a gracious, redemptive people in this historic moment.

In our series of messages on gender and sexuality, we now turn to the topic of homosexuality. What does the Bible teach and what does it mean for each of us, whether we personally deal with same-sex attraction or not? What we discover has some hard edges to be sure, but is ultimately a message of Gods amazing love and grace for all. Jesus invites all of us to surrender to him and his will, and to live as agents of his grace.
