The US Justice Department has released a chilling letter written by the would-be assassin of Donald Trump. An analysis of new evidence that has surfaced into a Singapore Airlines flight that encountered major turbulence in May has found that the plane flew directly into a developing thunderstorm over central Myanmar when other flights diverted away from it. Now, lawyers representing some of those injured say the new assessment of flight and satellite data is proof of human or mechanical failure.

The first detective on the scene of the Easey Street killings says he's enormously relieved the case may have been solved after almost half a century. The arrest of 65-year-old Australian-Greek national Perry Kouroumblis occurred in Rome last Thursday, with his brother saying he was shocked by the news of his arrest and that he wouldn't have waited for more than 40 years to leave Australia if he was guilty.

The whole country is set to cop a drenching this week with several months' worth of rain expected across the next few days. It's all thanks to a surge of tropical moisture that's already bringing flood concerns through large parts of WA and western parts of the Northern Territory.
