A new Premiere here on Sunset Grooves with the up and coming Valtierra on one of our favorite labels Shango Records. It has been a while since we have posted with an oriental touch, so we are delighted to share this dope production. Mystical vocals, oriental vibes, deep dark bass and a progressive groove throughout.

Thoth is one of the ancient Egyptian deities. In art he was often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or a baboon, animals sacred to him. His feminine counterpart was Seshat and his wife

was Ma’at. Thoth’s chief temple was located in the city of Hermes. Thoth maintaining the universe and being one of the two deities who stood on either side of Ra’s solar barge. In later history of ancient Egypt he was heavily associated with the arts of magic, the system of writing, the development of science and the judgment of the dead. Her name became associated with the lavish jars in which Egyptians stored their ointment used as perfume, she’s also depicted as the

goddess of protection against contagious diseases and evil spirits.

Super happy to have Al Lindrum back on the channel with his latest EP being released on our good friends WAYU Records. En Tur I Gyngen is just an absolute downtempo groover of a track with hypnotic vocals that carry that drive throughout the track.

Al Lindrum returns to WAYU Records on July 19th! His first original EP for the label, “Co-Laboratory,” outlines three joint experiments in sound. Alongside collabs with Elena Be and Dolph, the Copenhagen resident enlists the talents of Álvaro Suárez. Often accompanied by live violin, the transplant's electronic music productions form links to deep-seated classical inspiration. “El Camino, however, makes use of more contemporary elements. Anchored by a dazzling arpeggiated synth, the original mix is the perfect soundtrack for interplanetary travel.

Nectvr_ a dope producer from our home town of Lausanne who also goes by the alias of DOMO who founded the underground label Framework Recordings a vinyl only label focusing on unique quality house sounds.

We have known him on and off the decks and his super personality will come out in this fresh and different mix you are about to listen to. A mix composed of only his productions, edits and reworks, which goes to show his massive variety and love for all genres of music. Excited to share a new premiere from an upcoming producer who goes by the name Drakart (which means a boat drifting and exploring the world, and in his case discovering the different music cultures around the earth).

Track Info:

We head to Colombia with 'Aqui', a Latin-infused deep house EP by Drakart, with remixes by Rodrigo Gallardo and Aetius Boutefoy.

With stunning Afro-Latin vocals and live instrumentation, opening track 'Aqui' is simply a sun-drenched, tropical classic.

Chilean producer Rodrigo Gallardo drops the tempo and takes 'Aqui' in a slightly wistful direction for his version, creating hypnotic loops, which he deftly weaves in and out of a dubby groove.

German beatmaker Aetius Boutefoy focuses on 'Aqui's' African rhythms in his percussion-laden, atmospheric remix.

Second original track 'La Cumbia', as you might expect, embraces that most Colombian of genres, with an unmistakable rhythmic motif backing up a warm guitar and synth.

At the very hub of this wheel which is falling apart, is Beauty. And it will keep on rolling until everything that has gone to make up the wheel has disintegrated. It has already rolled over a goodly portion of the globe, over Persia and India and China, and like a magnet it has attached to itself microscopic particles from Kurd, Baluchistan, Timbuktu, Somaliland, Angkor, Tierra del Fuego. The odalisques it has studded with malachite and jasper, their flesh veiled with a thousand

eyes, perfumed eyes dipped in the sperm of whales. Wherever a breeze stirs there are breasts as cool as jelly, white pigeons come to flutter and rut in the ice-blue veins of the Himalayas. The wallpaper with which the men of science have covered the world of reality is falling to tatters. The grand whorehouse which they have made of life requires no decoration; it is essential only that the drains function adequately. Beauty, that feline beauty which has us by the balls all around the world, is finished. To fathom the new reality it is first necessary to dismantle the drains, to lay open the gangrened ducts which compose the genito-urinary system that supplies the excreta of

art. The odor of the day is permanganate and formaldehyde. The drains are clogged with strangled embryos.

One of our favorite labels at the moment is WAYU records who are so consistent with the quality releases from amazing producers from the four corners of this planet!

We are very pleased to Premier a wonderful remix by Audiotones of Savanna Church by Aetius Boutefoy.

After breaking into the scene with the incredible edit of 'Corre Morenita,' Aetius Boutefoy makes his WAYU Records debut with the 'Metadela' EP, an artistic masterpiece heavily charged with techy and groovy sounds perfect for any dance-floor.

Focused on low-end frequency elements that bring out punch and solid aural characteristics, the sound of Aetius is explosive and impactful. The artist tactfully develops an inspiring balance between heavy down-beats and melodic ideas which are deliberately and timely placed at moments to successfully achieve a provocative rhythmic and elegant experience.

'Metaleda' features an Afro/tribal bass-line intertwined with oriental wind instruments while 'Savanna Church' displays beautiful angelic vocals. This perfect balance is carried on by remixers Audiotones and Joep Mencke with different, but not so distant perspectives on their renditions of the two original tracks. Audiotones brings a dreamier and groovy remix of 'Savanna Church,' and Joep masterfully re-engineers a techy and synth oriented proposal of 'Metaleda.'

Phono who is a Munich based DJ who has put a super chilled mellow set for us! Having started mixing on Vinyl In his sets he tries to stay true to the “two turntables and mixer” philosophy as much as possible.

Upcoming Premiere from Rambal Cochet aka Volta Cab with his super dope EP on the wicked label Dark Leader. This track is full of groove and compliments the other two tracks on the EP which are more sinister and punchy.

Track Info:

This month, Saint Petersburg producer Volta Cab unleashes three tracks of shadowy dance goodness under the name Rambal Cochet. The new moniker is Cab’s persona for producing Goa Disco, a 4-on-the-floor, dark goa-influenced dance music that clearly embraces the best releases from labels like Wax Trax and Nettwerk.

The first track “Afro Express” moves your feet with a bouncy tribal house feel, then takes you to the next level with swirling psychedelic synth lines. Things get very energetic with “Haunted Powder Mind”. Its sinister undertones will haunt you and the punchy-driving groove with bring the dance floor to a frenzy. Finally the B-side brings us “Ottoman Empire” A middle eastern soaked EBM number that reminds us all that the dance is rooted in ancient ritual.

One of the East’s most sought-after producers, Cab (real name Konstantyn Isaev), has already proven he can work in genres as varying as dub and classic house, but this 3-song 12 inch coming out on Dark Leader Records show he can invent them too.

Sugark is taking over the sunset vibes for the next couple of weeks and what a mix he has made for us. Having met him last year at our friends @rebelomusic birthday celebrations we made an instant connection and discussed plenty and it was therefore with pleasure to invite him on board to do a special mix for Sunset Grooves. Coming from the Algarve underground scene in Portugal, he now resides in Berlin where he, amongst many other things, manages the wonderful aristic movement @hedone-world.

The first part of this mix leads off with deep chilled vibes with undertones of deep house, groovy vocals and the second half is a more progressive and powerful session. With subtle transitions and a variety in the track selection Sugark will embark you on a super dope musical journey.
