This month we took a look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. This game is an old school in style (but not in substance) beat em’ up, providing a tidy hit of nostalgia and modern upgrades to the SNES era Turtles in Time arcade beat em’ up formula. Developed by Tribute Games and DotEmu this game is perfect if you have a few friends that want to have some laughs and fun with that beat em’ up genre, but aren’t necessarily looking to memorize advanced movesets (but if you turn up the difficulty be ready). You can do drop-in and drop-out multiplayer with up to six people, across various paltforms, so it works for the remote game nights as well. In the end, if you’re a new player or an old hand with this style of game as well as TMNT as a media property, there’s a lot for everyone. Tons of fun and its now the TMNT game I will be recommending to anyone that wants an idea of where to start with TMNT’s roller coaster history of ups and downs with game adaptations.
Check out our liner notes for some links and information around the development and speedruns around the game, as well as YouTube for the aggregate of some video streams of our monthly play-throughs of games, as well as other side projects/segments we’ve published.
