This month (May) was Xeno Crisis the challenging arcade run-and-gun shooter from Bitmap Bureau. Liner notes are here.

Our conversation this time was relatively short and straight-forward. It’s a classic arcade genre, polished to a sheen, with procedurally generated rooms, and enough upgrade pathing and choice between levels to keep things interesting. The sprite art and music are fantastic. Also it’s available on so many platforms, which we talk about - in physical and digital editions (for emulators and more modern consoles and PC), which is great. A word to the wise too, it’s a difficult one. So be prepared to either cheat or practice a bit with a coop friend. Goes best with pizza and friends!
