Perhaps not the most talked about horror sequel available this Halloween season but one we were very excited to talk about nonetheless has arrived. What started as a listener recommendation a few months ago of the original Hell House LLC; we both watched it and really enjoyed it so this film was certainly on our radar. Let’s find out if it’s able to recapture the magic of the previous, surprisingly scary, film in the franchise. Something completely different for you guys to enjoy. Instead of talking about a new horror film that may or may not be good; this episode we are taking a trip down nostalgia lane to talk all about 80’s horror and what made it so special. Joining us for this special episode are Jessica Dwyer and Robin Block who are currently working on a documentary covering this very topic. Spooky season is upon us! To kick off this action packed October we return with a very interesting film that sure is getting a lot of buzz within the horror community right now. Nicholas Cage. Slipknot bikers on LSD. A gory 80’s set revenge story. What could go wrong? Elsewhere on the show we discuss the exciting news of a title and release date for the sequel to Happy Death Day. Fangoria seems to have made it’s bloody return though we may be waiting a while for our copy. The Conjuring 3 gets a director that sadly isn’t James Wan. To end the show we answer a listener question that gets us to rank the Halloween franchise. This one certainly divided us and I’m sure no one will disagree with this ranking at all.

Oh, do we have a very special show for you guys this week. Having unfortunately missed it’s screening at FrightFest 2018; we have been lucky enough to check out a film we have been eagerly anticipating since we were first made aware of its existence. Starring the inimitable Richard Brake is Perfect Skin which features various themes and subjects including most notably tattoo culture and its portrayal to an extreme degree. A very exciting film that we hope you guys are excited to hear our thoughts about. Elsewhere this week; I break the sad news to Mike that Robert Englund is returning as Freddy Krueger but only for a guest appearance on a American sitcom. The Twilight Zone revival is real. Castle Rock ended with a whimper and so far American Horror Story has returned with a bang.

The cinema horror releases never end as we continue to hit up the big screen in search of genre greatness. This week sees the return of our old friend Predator in his latest attempt to stay relevant and cause even more destruction. For a film that neither of us where particular excited for; you may be surprised with what we make of this one. Elsewhere on the show; Apostle gets a trailer and Matt is putting the hype levels into overdrive. We also have updates on Zombieland 2 which is ages away and Hell House LLC 2 which is extremely close. To end the show we round up some of the genre TV we’ve been watching including some overall thoughts on the way Castle Rock is turning out, some early impressions of The Purge and some even earlier impressions of American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

Being the gluttons for punishment that we are; not only did we watch one spooky film to talk about this week, we also saw a film called Slender Man. Smarter people warned us about what might happen but we decided to go against sound advice and check out one of the last screenings of this film many are calling the worst horror film of 2018. Do we agree? Let’s find out together and then never mention this film again. Elsewhere on the show; Alan Wake is getting a TV adaptation and we pray it ends up as good as the beloved video game. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina gets a trailer and we are very excited. To end things we give some brief thoughts on our time so far with probably the best game released in 2018 so far.

Yet another big cinema release has arrived this week as we discuss the 5th entry in The Conjuring universe. Having covered two previous films in this franchise for the show; let’s just say it’s been a mixed bag so far. Will The Nun turn out to be a great film like The Conjuring 2? Or a trainwreck like Annabelle: Creation? Let’s find out! After many months waiting for it’s release, and after being teased with a preview at FrightFest we sadly missed; Upgrade is finally available in UK cinemas. Hurray! A film we’ve wanted to see for what seems like a decade; we try and put that aside and discuss what we actually thought of this film. Interestingly we both have fairly different thoughts on this one for a change. Elsewhere on the show we talk about the brand new trailer for Halloween which certainly gets the hype levels rising and Death Note gets an unlikely sequel. We end by discussing our upcoming schedule and which films we think/hope will deliver for the rest of 2018.
