This Halloween season continues with a fury as yet another heavy hitter arrives in cinemas. Happy Death Day is Groundhog Day meets Scream and if that alone doesn’t get you excited; I’m not sure what will. We discuss everything about this film spoiler free before talking spoilers briefly at the end after we give the warning. The only news story this week is the rumours of Rob Zombie revisiting the Firefly family and we get both excited and worried at that thought. We also bring back Top 5 with perhaps our most contentious list yet as we reveal our Top 5 Sequels. We’re sure this one will go down well. And finally South Park: The Fractured But Whole may not be what we hoped it would be.

Netflix continues to bring original films to horror fans as this week we discuss The Babysitter that arrived this Friday the 13th. A zany tongue in cheek comedy horror that looks to maybe make you laugh more than scream this halloween. We also talk about the Friday the 13th sequel that unfortunately never was and how fans can show their support for Ash vs Evil Dead. We round things up with some first impressions of the stunning Cuphead and how the Battlefront 2 beta went.

One of horror’s biggest icons returns as Leatherface makes his triumphant return. We dive deep into The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise as a whole and where this new film stacks up. IT’s finally here. After all the anticipation and hype; the biggest horror film of the year has arrived. We give our full verdict on IT and whether it lived up to expectations after a record breaking weekend at the box office. We’re sure this won’t be the last time we discuss this film on the show. Some of our listeners (that’s you!) also give their thoughts on the film that everyone is talking about. We wrap things up by talking about the premiere of American Horror Story and why we really hope they turn things around.

The second of our FrightFest special shows see us discuss the much maligned Death Note. The adaptation of the popular manga and anime arrived on Netflix recently and we have some thoughts. Viewing the film from two different perspectives (Matt has seen the anime, Mike has not), we discuss the good and the bad of one of the most debated films of 2017 so far. FrightFest 2017 has sadly passed but now the fun begins for us as we get to discuss the films we saw this year. There’s only one place we can start and that is with the world premiere of Cult Of Chucky that opened this year’s festival. The seventh Chucky installment is officially out October 3rd and we give you the lowdown on whether this film should be on your radar or not. There will be also more films that we saw at FrightFest covered in the future so stay tuned for that. After all that excitement we briefly touch upon the Game of Thrones finale and why sometimes games that are on your backlog are there for a reason.
