The boys return for our review of New Japan's Anniversary show along with our official 2024 New Japan Cup picks. Joel and Damon also discuss the three man English booth, Perry in HOT, favorite blankets getting ruined, and does Tanga Loa put the final nail in the J-Cast?
299 Super J-Cast - New Beginning in Sapporo Review
The boys are back for their review of New Japan's New Beginning in Sapporo shows including Tetsuya Naito vs SANADA, Yota Tsuji vs Yuya Uemura, Hiromu Takahashi vs DOUKI, Nic Nemeth vs David Finlay, Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Matt Riddle , and Kazuchika Okada's last matches ( for now ) in a New Japan ring.
Joel messes up the recording schedule and makes the boys record mere hours before the New Beginning in Sapporo shows while Editor Dan is out of town. So here is the result: a terribly-edited podcast (Joel did it himself) that sounds awful and is full of ice-cold predictions about an event that has already happened. But it is fun to listen to how wrong we were about everything, so enjoy!
Joel and Damon are back with their full review and analysis of the New Beginning in Osaka. The guys discuss all the news and notes from the show, including Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Bryan Danielson, the epic Dog Pound Cage Match with Bullet Club vs. United Empire, and the final chapter in the Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi saga. All this, plus we answer your silly questions!
Joel is joined by John Carroll from Wrestling Omakase (Damon is taking a well-earned birthday break) to discuss the Korakuen double-header including the hard-hitting Gabe Kidd v HENARE match and LIJ v J5G Faction Warfare gauntlet match. We also preview Sunday's show in Osaka headlined by the big Bullet Club v United Empire cage match, as well as hot takes on Finlay's leadership, Okada's long goodbye, and Twitter exchanges with Tony Khan.
295 Super J-Cast - Road To The New Beginning
The guys are back with our reviews and previews from this year's Road To The New Beginning tour including Kazuchika Okada's last Korakuen show, Shota Umino vs. Ren Narita, low-ball offers for NJPW talent, favorite Phillies, El Desperado vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and answer your boring questions.
294 Super J-Cast - Okada Fallout / New Beginning in Nagoya Review
We are back with another in-depth analysis of the Okada situation in a new light with insider comments, working with the youth, historical trends of doing business on the way out, and who can pick up the ball. We also talk about Nagoya including Tama Tonga's exit and KOPW ringfit shenanigans.
An emergency podcast special to discuss the bombshell that Kazuchika Okada is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling. We take a massive victory lap (of course) for breaking the news and dissect the story from every angle including the timeline, what the office knew, who has been in Okada's ear, the state of puro in 2024, and what NJPW can do to bounce back.
Joel and Damon are back for their review of Battle in the Valley from San Jose, California. The guys discuss all the matches, storylines, and fallout from the big US show. Also, Joel and Damon discuss Rainmaker trademarks, Will Ospreay's closing stretch for the company, good ticket sales for New Japan, and answer your lame questions.
Joel and Damon are back for their review of Wrestle Kingdom and New Year Dash from Tokyo. The guys discuss all the matches, storylines, title-changes and what we can expect from New Japan in 2024. Also, Joel and Damon discuss Kota Ibushi, troubles brewing for Western wrestlers, Matt Riddle and Nick Nemeth in NJPW, and answer your horrible questions.
