Nostalgia

When I was a child,

Nostalgia seemed a small stamp:

"Here am I

And there my mother."

小时候，乡愁是一枚小小的邮票，我在这头，母亲在那头。



Then I was a grown-up,

Nostalgia became a traveling ticket:

"Here am I

And there my bride."

长大后，乡愁是一张窄窄的船票，我在这头，新娘在那头。



During the later years,

Nostalgia turned to be a graveyard:

"Here am I

And yonder my mother."

后来啊!乡愁是一方矮矮的坟墓，我在外头，母亲在里头。



And now at present,

Nostalgia looms large to be a channel:

"Here am I

And yonder my Continent!"

而现在，乡愁是一湾浅浅的海峡，我在这头，大陆在那头。

To tell all of you an amazing thing that I had eaten a double-yolked egg for two successive days. Who could tell me what did it mean? HaHaHa~~~

At about 11:00am, I had my second full English meeting over Webex. Not so nervous this time because I did not need to point out any issues during the meeting. But when I saw how other numbers stated and described their issues, I realized that there were still a lot of things that I should learn from them.

After work today, I did not know why I was so so so hungry. I just liked a Hungry Ghost and ate a lot lot lot of things. What was the matter with me?

Hahaha~~, I could not stop laughing during the whole funny show. I really recommend all of you to watch it if you are not happy.

Today was Sunday, and I could sleep as late as I wanted. But the truth was that I had a really “sound” sleep and I even could not distinguish between dream and reality. At about 10:30am, I decided to get up because if I went on sleep I would not feel well all the day. The weather today was nice, so after few bad weather weekends, I finally could air my quilt.

I was a curtilage female all the afternoon, because it was the only time of a week that I could stay at home and no need to go to anywhere. I really enjoyed and cherished this period of time.

My good friend Della went to select her wedding photos. She sent some to me and asked for my advice. I just wanted to say: wow, the most beautiful time of a girl would really be the day when she got married.

After the calligraphy class today, my colleague Della invited me to have dinner at her home. She is a very nice girl and she is my best friend in Hangzhou.

I arrived at her home at about 5pm. She and her newly-married husband were making dumplings. Before that Della had made the bone soup with lotus root, and she said that was a special soup of her hometown—Wuhan. I had never eaten that kind of soup before and I just want to say it was so delicious. Except these, they also prepared for some delicious dishes. In one word, they were so hospitable and we had a very nice dinner together.

After the dinner, we chatted for about 2 hours and then I went home. I really appreciated for their invitation.

How time flies! A week has passed in the twinkling of an eye. I really miss the time when I was a little girl and the time when I thought a day was so long.

Though the weather was not good today, the average temperature was about 15 degrees centigrade. I went out just with a thin coat, but I knew I could not be happy earlier because from tomorrow the weather would be cold again, just as per the weather forecast.

I was not so busy this afternoon which was so different with last Friday, so I was listening to some English teaching radio show and learning something new. I will share you these in my later diary.

Today was a very special day, because I attended a training called ”Design Thinking”. Just as the name implies, the training was about creativity.

Two activities really impressed me, which I will share with you now.
The first one: we were divided into several groups, and each group had seven numbers. The trainer gave each team a marshmallow, a string, some spaghetti and adhesive tape. The rule was to see what height could us to put the marshmallow in. In the end the height of us was 50cm, but according to the statistics, that was just an average height. What surprised us was that the children did the best with the height about 80cm. Children are always the most creative group, but for we adults, our creativities are killed by the life from day to day.

The second one: the trainer told us to design a product regarding taking photos that would meet the requirement for our partner. My partner Rechel and me had a crazy idea. We all know that girls like to take photos by themselves because they think it will make them more beautiful, but one problem is that we can not get the full body and even the background into the photos if we take them by ourselves. So our idea was to design a microcamera which could be installed in our mobile phone. If we needed to take selfie, the camera would come out, and at the same time the mobile phone would be a remote control and a mirror which could be used to see what we looked like in the camera. Was that crazy? Maybe someday in the future it will come true.

Today was the first time for me to attend a full English meeting, and meanwhile I needed to say something about the issues we had recently. I was so nervous and could not listen clearly in some places during the meeting, but fortunately my colleague Wendy who spoke English and Japanese very fluently was there. She was very nice, kindly and helpful. No matter from the aspect of learning language or being a good guy, she was always the example and the direction of my effort.
