Kala Brown, 30, and Charlie Carver, 32, who lived together in Anderson, South Carolina went missing on August 31, 2016. The usual investigation will see police interview all family and friends. A twist soon occurs when someone began posting Facebook updates and photos on Charlie Carver’s page, and sending messages to friends saying he and Brown were OK. Persons who knew the couple did
not believe these were from Charlie Carver and that someone had his phone.
Investigators soon took a close look at Kala’s employer, a real estate agent named Todd Kohlhepp. They saw some unusual behavior and soon learned he was a registered sex offender. The cell carrier reported that a couple of weeks after the disappearance, they received cell phone pings from a certain tower. As a group of police officers searched this area, they heard a banging and yelling from a metal cargo container located on adjacent property owned by Kohlhepp.
The officers immediately responded onto the property and freed Kala Brown from a 2 month imprisonment. They found her tethered by a chain around her neck.
Brown also told investigators that her boy friend, Charlie Carver and two or three other bodies were possibly buried on the property. The owner of the property, identified as Kala’s employer, Todd Kohlhepp, was charged with kidnapping and would later be charged
with multiple murders. Soon investigators will solve at least 2 other missing persons cases and the 13 year old Superbike murders.
