CLL #749 (feat. Adam Goldberg) – 08/12/1998 – Wednesday Night Show Source – TobyDog Tape (2008) with another TobyDog source used for patches

This is the only copy of this show, two TD tapes merged together with almost the exact same content on both tapes, but some slight differences. The best version was used, enhanced and patched with the lower quality backup source. Adam proves to be a great guest and returns to the show two more times, once in 1999 and again in 2003. There are some audio issues including bleed in from another station or previous recording on the source tape, it can be annoying if you focus on it so try not to, this is a good episode.

This is the new Kevin tape with some patches from the JBJ tape, Tom Lennon is making his one and only known appearance on CLL, promoting ‘Viva Variety’ and proves to be a delightful yet somewhat quiet guest. Tom is infamous for his impression of James Babydoll Dixon, Adam Carolla’s talent agent. This is the only known recording of the show, it’s missing a few beats on the breaks and in the middle from the tape flip but nearly complete, the best we’re ever going to get and now remastered for the last time. DAG has at least another 16 appearances before Adam’s departure and we have all of them, so get ready to save some babies! DAG talks about his gopher problem, insults Jeff Conway and offers up some delightful sincerity to the callers, great episode!

This is a new merging of the existing Spinfly Tape and the TobyDog Tape, the show is now complete in full, Diane was the longest running female co-host on MTV Loveline and went on to star in many TV series as well as Adam’s movie ‘Roar Hard’ she’s a fantastic guest and it’s a real shame she didn’t appear more, she has two more visits to the show in January of 1999 and then again in January of 2002 during the ‘Roswell’ era.

This is a brand-new merging of 3 different recordings and took over 8 hours to build from tape transferring to editing, not counting the previously acquired recordings and the years of work over the last decade.
