This film is the second the DC Cinematic Universe and is based on the comic book series of the same name. The film stars Milly Alcock as the titular character along with Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley & Emily Beecham. David Corenswet reprises his role as “Superman” from the 2025 film. Jason Momoa also returns to the DC Universe as a new character. Momoa played “Aquaman” from 2016 - 2023 in DC’s previous cinematic universe. In this film, Kara Zor-El is celebrating her 23rd birthday by going to parties on different planets but the celebration takes an unexpected turn as her trusted sidekick, Krypto, is poisoned by a gang of space bikers who have been causing death and destruction in this part of the universe. The film and story was reworked following the demise of the previous cinematic universe and once James Gunn and Peter Safren took over DC films, a reboot was confirmed in 2023. While no plans for a sequel have been confirmed, Gunn and Alcock have stated that we would more of Supergirl in upcoming DC projects. The film hit theaters nationwide on June 26th, 2026.
