This horror sequel was written and directed by Parker Finn and is a follow up to his 2022 film. The film stars Naomi Scott, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Ray Nicholson, Peter Jacobson & Raul Castillo. In this film, a few days after the events of the first one, a pop singer is on the road to recovery after a year of substance abuse and a near fatal car accident. But her comeback is interrupted when an old friend of hers, who is apparently not himself, dies in front of her, leaving this dark entity to follow her and causing a demonic and ominous “smile” to slowly take over her mind. Parker Finn has stated plans for a sequel before the previous film was released. Once that film was successful, production began on this one. Naomi Scott was casted and immediately began rehearsing for the role as pop star, Skye Riley, a singer inspired by Lady Gaga & Brittany Spears. Although his role is small, the casting of Ray Nicholson was to pay homage to “The Shining”, the 1980 horror classic that starred his father, Jack Nicholson.
The latest episodes in this DC spinoff series are now available on HBO Max.

This film is the 3rd and supposedly final film in the “Venom” trilogy following the 2018 & 2021 previous films. Sony made it official as the 5th film in their “Spider Man” Universe films which included the 2 “Spier Man” films starring Andrew Garfield. This film was directed by Kelly Marcel and sees Tom Hardy return to the title character and is joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Clark Backo & Alanna Ubach. A few recurring characters return including Stephen Graham & Peggy Lu. Andy Serkis also joins this film in a voice over role. Serkis directed the previous “Venom” film. Rhys Ifans is also in this film but not as his “Amazing Spider Man” character despite taking place within the same universe. In this film, Eddie Brock and the symbiote known as Venom are framed for the murder of a San Francisco detective and become fugitives. During their run, they also discover that Venom’s home planet was destroyed by a dark symbiote who has now coming for Earth. The race is on staying hiding but also stop this invasion at all costs.
Kelly Marcel had worked on the previous 2 films but this one marks her directorial debut for any motion picture. Tom Hardy has expressed plans to play Venom again but no further plans have been made as of now. This film hit theaters on October 25, 2024.
