  • SHFTS Season 4 Episode 49

    Chris starts off with his obsession over all things pinball related,

    especially when it comes to Pinball FX.  It is getting so bad this man
    should think about buying shares in the developer.  He has Pinball FX
    games on his PS3, Xbox 360, iPad and now 3DS.  He chats about how the
    3D actually helps with gameplay and the fact that he is better at the 3DS
    version than any other due to the fact that it is slower.  Forza 4 also
    gets a look in with the SHFTS racing series still going strong.  Mario
    Kart 7 is also discussed and is deemed a worthy addition to the series, but
    not the best.

    Tara chats about her time in Skyrim as a leader of the thieves guild

    and also makes positive noises about Black Adders series 2 to 4.  She
    is less charitable about the film Troll 2 however.

    In the news we cover OnLive launching on Android based devices, people

    blocking ads in XBL, Shigeru Miyamoto not retiring and all XBox 360
    dashboard apps needing to support Kinect.

  • SHFTS Season 4 Episode 48

    We open up with talk on Fusion Genesis, not Fusion Galaxy as we call it during the show and marvel at its depth and complexity, especially considering the fact that it is a two-stick shooter.  Tony shares his experience with Skyrim by explaining how he effectively broke the game while Alphabox plays a Cabela title, all thanks to advertising during Monday Night Football.


    We sign off with news that includes another PS Vita story.  By way of reaction, a challenge is made to play Mr Beans Wacky World Wii game.

  • SHFTS Season 4 Episode 47

    This week Kropotkin, Alphabox, Hendrix and Tara share their adventures

    in the land of Skyrim.  This includes giant baiting and should not be
    missed.  Krop and Hendrix chat about their experiences with Star Wars
    the Old Republic and declare it to be very entertaining, despite the MMO
    shackles it is burdened with.  Alpha finishes Call of Duty Modern
    Warfare 3 and finds it to be an entertaining romp.  He does not rate
    the multiplayer when compared to Battlefield though, much like everybody
    else.  Tara tells of her struggle between playing Saints Row the The
    Third and Skyrim and she feels very torn.

     

    We sign off with news on a console port of Diablo 3 and I Am Alive not

    coming to the PC.

    Neil, Tara and Chris are the hosts of this weeks SHFTS, and we start

    off with a chat about how crazy Skyrim can be when you get chased down by a
    giant.  We also have a discussion on the Halo remake, Zelda Skyward
    Sword and the SHFTS Forza 4 racing series that started this week. Assassins
    Creed also gets a look in along with the question over whether or no video
    games are art.  Yes, we went there.

    We end with gaming news which included stories on Skyrim game saves
    ruining the game on the PS3, Minecraft finally coming out and Torchlight 2
    being delayed.

    Chris and Tony chat about their experience at Replay Expo in Blackpool while Neil tells us how he has finished off Rage The Witcher and is now considering moving on to the Witcher 2.  Tara has a dabble with the indie games section on XBLA and gets more than a little burned by Dark Delve.  We also cover details on how you can take part in the SHFTS Forza 4 racing series.

    We finish off with gaming news that includes stories on subscription falls for World of Warcraft and Sony charging people to transfer their UMD PSP games onto the Vita.

    Hendrix likes Battlefield 3 a lot.  Certainly a lot more than his

    digestive system does for White Castle burgers.  Alphabox shares his
    experiences with Dark Souls briefly before he goes off to pick up a second
    hand Xbox 360 steering wheel.  Tara meanwhile is squealing over the
    news that there is to be a new Rainbow 6 game.

    With BloodShot Robot gone the crew do their best to cheer themselves

    up, only to make themselves feel even worse by regaling each other about the
    experiences they had with Ace Combat Assault Horizon.  For that game
    does little to progress the long running franchise as Hendrix is so very
    quick to point out.  It is not all bad however, as Forza 4 proves to be
    a tad more worthwhile to spend ones time on, at least that is according to
    resident petrol head, Mr Hendrix.

    A two person podcast this week, with Chris ORegan and Tara Nelson discussing a large variety of games.  Chris chats about his time on Rage, Gears of War 3, Blood Bowl and Scoregasm, while Tara declares Dungeon Siege 3 completed and ponders what to play next. The Sims 3 pets seems to be the favourite.
