De aflevering liet even op zich wachten maar om het goed te maken, is ‘ie extra lang.

In deze aflevering HEEL veel Dungeons and Dragons maar ook de muziek van Jessica Pratt.

Dat Maryam best een nerd is, mag geen verrassing meer zijn. In deze aflevering bewijst ze dat nog maar eens door Martin in een dik half uur van een kritisch ("ik houd niet van spellen en fantasy") tot enthousiasteling te maken over de fantasiewereld van Dungeons and Dragons.

Wat doe je als een van je meest favoriete bands ooit er mee stopt? Juist. Dan besteed je daar aandacht aan in de podcast die je toevallig maakt.

Samen met Ron, is Martin groot fan van de band NOFX, die dit jaar na 41 jaar een punt hebben gezet achter hun carrière.

Ron appte Martin “dit is voor de allereerste keer dat ik zo’n ‘de Backstreet Boys gaan uit elkaar, jankende fans, knoop in m’n maag en brok in m’n keel’ gevoel heb bij het stoppen van een band. Ik kan het bijna niet beseffen” en vroeg Martin om er aandacht aan te besteden in Superlatief.

Naast veel andere dingen (waaronder de fantastische nieuwe plaat van de band Sloper) ga je dus vooral luisteren naar hoe Martin de band NOFX ontdekte, hoe de band van invloed was op de vriendschap tussen Ron en Martin en ook hoe het hun muzikale smaak heeft beïnvloed.

In this episode: stories of life and death with Nuno from A Wilhelm Scream.

Martin brought Maryam to Melkweg, Amsterdam. One of his favorite punkrock bands, A Wilhelm Scream, played as a support act for Less than Jake and Death By Stereo.

Years ago, Martin went on a tour through Europe and he wanted to introduce Maryam to A Wilhelm Scream's music by bringing her to the show. Before the show, they sat down with lead singer Nuno, because during the tour Martin went on them with, they experienced what Martin regards as one of his craziest adventures and life-and-death experiences.

You can find the first part of the conversation with Nuno in episode 14 of Superlatief, but Nuno is a great story teller with some more adventures in his story book. Also, Martin went on some tours with other bands before, which also happened to end in crazy ways.

So in episode 16, we take you back to Melkweg, to our conversation with Nuno for some breath taking stories.

In deze aflevering: tourverhalen over leven en dood met Nuno van A Wilhelm Scream. Martin nam Maryam mee naar de Melkweg in Amsterdam. Een van zijn favoriete punkrockbands, A Wilhelm Scream, speelde als voorprogramma voor Less than Jake en Death By Stereo.

Jaren geleden ging Martin op tour door Europa met A Wilhelm Scream en hij wilde Maryam kennis laten maken met hun muziek door haar mee te nemen naar de show. Voor het optreden spraken ze met leadzanger Nuno, om te praten over het avontuur dat Martin tijdens de tour met hen meemaakte; een van zijn meest bizarre avonturen en bijna-doodervaringen.

Het eerste deel van het gesprek met Nuno is te vinden in aflevering 14 van Superlatief, maar Nuno is een geweldige verteller met nog meer avonturen in zijn verhalenboek. Bovendien ging Martin eerder op tour met andere bands, wat ook op bizarre manieren eindigde. Ook die verhalen kwamen ter sprake.

In aflevering 16 nemen we je mee terug naar de Melkweg, naar ons gesprek met Nuno voor een paar adembenemende verhalen.

In this episode: life-and-death with Nuno from A Wilhelm Scream, a field trip to a hardcore punk show, a story about the best worst wedding EVER and a story about why Pride is still really important.

We start this episode of Superlatief in English. Martin brought Maryam to Melkweg, Amsterdam to go see one of his favorite bands. Before the show we talk to their lead singer Nuno about a life-and-death adventure that Martin and the band survived in Spain about 16 years ago.

Also we listen to a part of A Wilhelm Scream’s concert, talk through their music and also their support band called Death By Stereo.

After this we switch back to Dutch and talk through the wedding ceremony that Martin officiated a day before the Melkweg-concert and how that wedding holds a story that has got everything to make it a Hollywood movie.

Closing off the episode, Martin talks about an old friend that has just joined Dutch Parliament as the first non-binary person there. She posted a beautiful picture of her family, leading up to Pride and got a shit load of hate on it in response.

Als afsluiting van de aflevering vertelt Martin over een oude vriend die net is toegetreden tot het Nederlandse parlement als de eerste non-binaire persoon daar. Ze plaatste een prachtige foto van haar familie, in aanloop naar Pride, en kreeg een hoop haatreacties daarop.
