Mississippi casinos saw a slight decline in revenue in the third quarter of this year as the nation’s gaming industry saw an uptick overall in earnings. After starting 2024 on a high note, generating nearly $20 million more than it had in the final three months of last year, Mississippi’s casinos have experienced a 2.3% drop in annual revenue in the second quarter and a 3.5% decline in the third quarter.

A Mexican national found illegally present in Mississippi has been sentenced to 240 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the U.S. after being convicted and deported for an aggravated felony.

A 78-year-old man faces charges after a string of accidents in Gulfport on Tuesday. Elio Gonzalo Fombellida allegedly collided with a UPS truck and fled the scene, then struck a pedestrian, and went on to collide with two additional vehicles. He reportedly tried to evade police when they located his vehicle.
