  • One person is facing charges after a police chase in Jackson
    One person is in custody after a police chase in Jackson on Saturday. Capitol Police were called to the West Express Convenience Store on Fortification and West Streets to investigate a reported stolen vehicle. When they arrived, the driver of the stolen Hyundai Sonata sped off, leading police on a chase that ended when the driver left the roadway, drove onto the Sonny Guy Municipal Golf Course, and collided with a tree. 30-Year-old Jamory Smith allegedly fled on foot while displaying a visible weapon. Officers brought him into custody on a fairway. According to police, both the vehicle and the weapon he was carrying were stolen.

  • Gautier police are investigating a fatal shooting / Wiggins Police Chief announces his retirement
    Gautier police are looking for the suspect who opened fire at a Gautier High School Alumni Homecoming event. One person was killed and two people were injured in the shooting on Friday night at 10 on Dolphin Drive near the roundabout. Plus, after nearly three decades spent protecting the citizens of Stone County, Wiggins Police Chief Jeff Thomas will retire at the end of this month. Deputy Chief Tim Hill will be promoted to Chief of Police.

  • Three Gulfport teens are facing charges for a shooting on Tuesday
    Three Gulfport teenagers are facing charges in connection with a shooting early Tuesday morning. Police received multiple calls of gunshots being fired in the area of Roberts Avenue and 28th Street just after 1 a.m. 18-year-old Treyshun Whittle was charged with one count of shooting into a dwelling, one count of retaliation against a public servant, and one count of possession of a stolen firearm. Miyun Ashely and Tacorey Young, who are both 17, were each charged with one count of shooting into a dwelling.
