No. 24 Ole Miss ousted No. 22 Southern Miss in a high-scoring affair, 15 to 8. The Golden Eagles walked a program-record 11 batters while the Rebels were able to take advantage of those miscues. The Trump administration is taking steps to meet with pharmaceutical companies to examine pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and discuss reforms aimed at eliminating PBM "middlemen." Robert Dozier, the Executive Director of the MS Independent Pharmacies Association, believes PBMs are driving up the cost of prescription drugs.

Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is cheering the start of a legislative effort to repeal certain Biden administration rules intended to curtail American oil and gas production, including future development in the Gulf of America. The Senator believes President Trump was right to declare a National Energy Emergency to undo Biden's policies that undermined American energy production. Hyde-Smith, who serves on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, cosponsored several CRA resolutions of disapproval to overturn Biden-era policies.

Driver Service Bureaus across Mississippi are open, but the Department of Public Safety is warning residents that a recent system upgrade from a vendor has led to much longer wait times than usual. The DPS is encouraging customers to delay their visit if possible. Plus, a 15-year-old has been arrested for a fatal shooting in Jackson on Saturday. 68-year-old Thelma Wright was pronounced dead at the scene in the 3800 block of Meadow Lane around 11 a.m. over the weekend. Devin Nicholas has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

The Biloxi Police Department wants to enact a new security measure for the city's two Mardi Gras parades. They want to avoid what happened during the terror attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day. Chief John Miller asked the council to approve $7,400 to rent ten buses from the city's school district. The buses wouldn't be used for transportation. They'll be used to block off some intersections so that people can't drive through.

A Mississippi-based artificial intelligence company is expanding operations in Starkville. Camgian announced an investment of $2.5 million to upgrade computing capacity to support large-scale AI model training.

Plus, a student at Mississippi College is facing charges after posting a bomb threat on social media. Officials determined the threat wasn't credible, and there was no imminent danger to other students after arresting the student on February 24. The student has been removed from the university.

The man who shot and killed a Hinds County deputy responding to a domestic call over the weekend had a long criminal history that dated back to 2004. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones says Eric Brown had seven felony arrests, 18 misdemeanor arrests, and zero convictions at the time of his death.
