Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones says investigations are underway into the suspicious deaths of two detainees being housed in Tallahatchie.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Mississippi during Wednesday's severe weather. Preliminary reports show 15 homes and 4 businesses in Marion County were damaged. Wayne County reported damage to 38 homes and 2 businesses. HB 92 would give individual retailers in those counties a chance to open on Sundays between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. ABC-permitted liquor stores in Mississippi can sell liquor between 10 a.m. and midnight, Monday through Saturday, and are required to be closed on Sundays and Christmas Day.
