Roundup and other herbicides containing glyphosate are freely used here in the United States, but banned in Europe. That’s because the chemical has been linked to cancer – and manufacturer Bayer has been sued hundreds of thousands of times as a result.
But the United States Supreme Court ruled in a 7 to 2 decision late last month that the company can’t be sued for failing to warn of Roundup’s potential health hazards. Pete Hardin and Bert Zipperer take a closer look at the case, in this edition of “The Milkweed.”
