We begin a brand new sermon series. It will be a verse-by-verse walk through the book of Colossians. Don’t miss this first week as we lay the groundwork that the entire series will be built upon as we examine the history and purpose of this book. Many historic theologians have asserted that Colossians gives us the clearest picture of Jesus in all of Paul’s letters. Throughout the book, two key truths rise to the top: Jesus is our all-supreme Lord and our all-sufficient savior.

The church at Colossae might have existed thousands of years ago, and thousands of miles away from us, but the letter Paul wrote to them is just as meaningful and relevant today as if it were written yesterday. The book of Colossians offers a wonderful mix of theological truth and practical life application. The beginning of the book presents one of the most profound teachings about Christ anywhere in scripture. The second half explains how that truth is expressed in every aspect of our lives, from our individual lives to our homes, families, and work. No matter where you are, there is something in this study for you.
