The fifty days have passed and the promised Holy Spirit is poured out on the church. The once hidden gospel is no longer the possession of a chosen few. The Spirit enables the message of salvation to enflame hearts for bearing witness to the ends of the earth, just as Joel’s prophesy declared.

The human heart continues to be a very productive factory of idols. When we compare our idols with our ascended Lord Jesus, we will see the foolishness of idolatry. We destroy the golden calf of our life and replace it with the God who rides on the clouds.

We know what Christ did for us. Now we get to live a life that shows the world that Christ lives in us.

Most of the time our "circle of sacrifice" is pretty small. God's Word encourages, at seeing God's sacrificial love for us, to extend our circles and begin to daily lay down our lives for our brothers.

Missionary Hartman encourages us from God's Word to see the victory that we have in Christ and to share that victory with others.

Imagine a world without death. Easter means that we don’t need to imagine. It’s already a reality.

Sometimes, we need to visit a false reality where Christ is dead and there is no resurrection so that we can rejoice in our the truth of our reality. Christ is risen. We too will rise. Our sins are forgiven and we are to be the most envied people on the face of the earth.

We think we are so strong. yet, when put to the test, how often we come up falling short! When we come up short, hoever, may God give us the strength to be more like Peter than Judas.

At times fears leads us to be silent about our faith in Jesus. The pardoning death of Jesus leads us to a vocal, public faith.

What moves us to hate people so intensely that we'll go to any length to hurt them? How easily we can rationalize along with the schemer inside of each one of us.
