As we dive into the scripture, we find David and his men arriving at Ziklag, only to discover the devastating aftermath of an attack. The city had been burned, and their loved ones had been taken captive. In the face of this immense tragedy, David and his men wept bitterly and even contemplated turning against their leader. But in the midst of their despair, David drew strength from the Lord his God.
David's realization is a poignant reminder for all of us: attempting to navigate life in our own strength will lead to failure. David acknowledged his shortcomings when he said, "I did it on my own and I failed bad at it." However, he found the key to recovery and restoration by strengthening himself in the Lord.
Pastor Ryan empathizes with the challenges we face. There are moments when anxiety, frustration, and the voices of defeat threaten to drown out our praise and weaken our faith.
