Hey there surfers and beach lovers, welcome to your Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Jacksonville. Let's dive right in!
For Nassau-Duval area, we've got a HIGH SURF ADVISORY in effect until early tomorrow morning with a high rip current risk lingering around. Today, expect surf heights of 6 to 8 feet with some cloudy skies and a chance of thunderstorms. The water temperature is a comfy 77 to 82 degrees, perfect for a refreshing dip. Hold onto your hats, as those southeast winds will be howling at around 30 miles per hour with stronger gusts.
Moving on to tomorrow, the rip current risk remains high with slightly smaller surf heights of 6 to 7 feet. The weather gods might grant us a break from thunderstorms, but showers are still on the menu. Temps will be in the mid-80s, and the winds will be a bit calmer from the southwest at 25 mph.
Looking ahead, Wednesday's waves will be a mellower 1 to 2 feet, so keep the stoke alive. Remember to check out the extended forecast for the rest of the week on the NWS website.
Now, for our St. Johns-Flagler beachgoers, things are pretty similar with a high rip current risk in place. Today, expect surf heights of 5 to 7 feet and the same weather conditions as our Nassua-Duval friends. The winds will be howling from the south at around 30 mph.
Tomorrow, the surf heights shrink a tad to 5 to 6 feet with clouds and showers likely. The winds will be a bit friendlier at 20 to 25 mph from the southwest.
