Surf's up, beach lovers! We're diving into today's coastal conditions along the Carolina coastline, and it's looking like a solid day to hit the waves.
For our Topsail and Pender County crews, we're seeing a sweet setup with surf heights ranging 2 to 4 feet. Winds will be cruising in from the north around 10 miles per hour, and the water's sitting pretty in the mid 60s. Expect mostly cloudy skies early, transitioning to sunshine by mid-morning. UV index is cranked up to very high, so sunscreen is your best friend today.
Heading down to New Hanover's beaches like Wrightsville and Carolina, you'll find similar vibes with 1 to 3 foot swells. North winds between 10 to 15 mph will keep things interesting, and you'll see partly sunny skies turning full sunshine by late morning.
Brunswick County beaches have a bit more excitement brewing east of Ocean Isle Beach, with a moderate rip current risk in play. Surf heights will range 2 to 5 feet, so experienced surfers might want to take note. Water temperatures are creeping into the upper 60s, making for some comfortable paddling.
Looking ahead, Thursday brings mellow conditions with low rip current risks and gentle 1 to 3 foot swells. Friday might get a bit spicier with potential showers and thunderstorms, so stay weather aware.
Bottom line: Grab your board, respect the water, and enjoy these prime spring surfing conditions! Ride safe, beach warriors.
