On July 3, 2013, I interviewed Markku Wilenius, Senior Advisor at Finland Future Research Centre of Turku School of Economics. Markku talks about the next, sixth, wave of economics and societies that will be driven by environmental technologies, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and healthcare.

How does the sixth wave affect the construction industry? Markku believes that we’ll see a paradigm shift towards intelligent construction that uses new, environmentally sustainable  materials and is resource-efficient throughout the life cycle of the built environment.
