SURGE CAST ... The Official Podcast of the Wichita Wind Surge episodes

  • Another Great Season In The Books

On this episode, Scotty and Tim are back to wrap up the 2022 Wind Surge season. The Wind Surge had another epic season coming up just short in the championship series. Although, it is another year of coming second, Wind Surge fans got to see 4 Surge players make it up to the Major Leagues by the end of the season and 16 players overall. We saw a complete game no-hitter, and it may never happen again. We saw more walk-offs, milestones, and amazing talent at Riverfront in 2022, but what is your favorite moment? In the offseason, Riverfront Stadium will not be empty. It will host at least 4 high school football games, and maybe a couple more attractions. Thank you, Wichita, for another great season, and here is to another one. Enjoy another episode, and as always, #SurgeUp!

  • Playoffs & No-Hitters

On this week's episode, Scotty & Tim discuss the playoff implications of the Wind Surge, and movement throughout the MiLB that may impact the MLB playoffs. Daniel Gusset throws the first complete-game-no-hitter in Wind Surge history, and it may be the only one to ever happen. Spencer Steer make a booming debut in Cincinnati, and Louie Varland is named the Minnesota Twins' Minor League Pitcher Of The Year. Riverfront Stadium is going to have high school football in the offseason, so don't think the fun is ending when baseball season is over. Enjoy another episode, and as always, #SurgeUp!

  • Ramón Borrego Wins His 500th & The Field Of Dreams

The season is winding down, and the playoffs are just around the corner. Would you rather win the first half or the second half of the regular season when going into the playoffs? What roster moves before the trade deadline have affected to Wind Sure, and how are some of our previous players moving up the ranks?  Our head coach has won his 500th game as a manager, and some of our Wind Surge players got to play at The Field Of Dreams. Make sure you do not miss Star Wars Night, and all of the other promo nights that are left at Riverfront Stadium. Enjoy another episode, and as always #SurgeUp.

  • Beginning To The Second Half & The All Star Futures Game

On This week's episode, Tim and Scotty discuss the beginning of the second half to the Wind Surge season, and the 2022 All Star Futures Game. Two Wind Surge players get an opportunity to play in Dodger stadium, and what are the oldest MLB stadiums? Roster moves throughout the season look to have effected many teams throughout the league, and there is a good chance more moves are sure to come as the Twins make a push for a long postseason run. There are some pretty awesome theme nights coming up, and Riverfront stadium is scheduled to have the first Wichita High School Football game in October. • The End Of The First Half & Tarp Pull Fails

On this week's episode, Tim and Scotty discuss the end of the first half of the season, and how that affects the playoffs at the end of the season. Two Twins Single-A Minor League teams did win the first half of their season, so how does that affect the Wind Surge? Matt Wallner and Louie Varland are staying very hot, and there is still a lot of baseball to be played. Pulling the tarp over the field can be pretty humorous, and hopefully someone catches it on video. The Wind Surge logo finds itself on a KC-46, and building plans around Riverfront Stadium finally become public. Enjoy another Surge Cast, and as always, #SurgeUp!

  • Roster Moves, Testing Baseballs, & Pitch Clocks

On this episode, Tim and Scotty discuss the most recent roster moves and how they effect the Wind Surge organization, the team, and the individual players, themselves. Why do some players move through the system faster, and why do players who are definitely capable of moving on to the next level seem to stick around? While the MLB uses the MiLB as a testing site for new rules, they are also testing different baseballs? How has the pitch clock effected the pitchers moving into the "big leagues," and how have the base runners taken advantage of said pitch clock? There is a lot of season left, but the first half of the season is winding down, and that is more important than you thought. Enjoy another episode, and, as always, #SurgeUp!

  • Tumba Vacas Debut & Baseball Issues

On this week's episode, Scotty and Tim discuss the debut of the Tumba Vacas de Wichita, and problems with the surface of some of the baseballs. We have a few players going through rehab visit Wichita for the first time, and we now have 30 players who have played at Riverfront who are now in the "big leagues." Do you jinx no-hitters, or do announcers do it in a subtle way? Enjoy another episode, as always, #SurgeUp.

  • Rain Delays & Bats In The Netting

On this episode, Tim and Scotty discuss the unfortunate rain delays, and how it affects players with schedule changes and double headers. Pitch clocks and automatic balls and strikes are changing the speed of the game, and some of those new rules may be coming to baseball quicker than you think. Players are moving through the minor league system including 2 players being called up as of late, and a very cool story about two brothers pitching against each other makes the minor league news. The season is young and the Surge may have had a rough start, but they seem to be banding together winning streaks as of late. Enjoy another episode, and always #SurgeUp!

  • Winning Streaks & Tub Dubs

On this week's episode, Scotty and Tim discuss the beginning to the 2022 season, and the origin of the Wichita Turbo Tubs. Where did the idea come from, and who is responsible for the new nickname Wichita is falling in love with? How difficult do you think it is to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and what do you think we have planned for "Cinco de Mayo?" Your biggest hints and behind the scenes stories come from this Surge Cast. Enjoy another episode, and #SurgeUp.

  • Opening Weekend 2022

On this week's episode, Tim and Scotty discuss opening weekend with flyovers, Kansas weather, and positive things to look forward to this season. Although the Wind Surge start out the season 0-3, there is a lot of baseball to be played, and the playoff picture is decided by 2 halves of a season, instead of just one. The Wind Surge will be called The Tumba Vacas de Wichita to celebrate Hispanic and Latino culture in our community for 3 COPA games this season, and more promotions are still to come. Enjoy another episode, and #SurgeUp!
