What does it actually feel like to become a surrogate in Mexico?
Gloria grew up in Mexico City, has her own feelings about pregnancy, and one day decided to do something most people around her didn’t quite understand. In this episode, she sits down with Jamie to talk about all of it, from how she first found out about surrogacy, to the moment she met the intended parents, to what it was really like going through the process while managing everyone’s opinions around her.
She gets into the medical side, the emotional side, and the parts nobody really prepares you for. Including cravings. Yes, cravings too.
If you’ve ever wondered what surrogacy looks like from the inside, told by someone who’s actually lived it, this one’s for you.

What does surrogacy really feel like after the baby is born? And what support do surrogates and intended parents need along the way?
In this honest, heartfelt episode of Surrogates Uncensored, Gestacy talks with Katie, a two-time gestational carrier, five-time egg donor, and founding member of the National Surrogate Alliance, about the parts of surrogacy people don’t always see.
Together, Gestacy and Katie challenge common assumptions about who becomes a surrogate and discuss the need for better education, mental health support, and a stronger surrogate voice in the industry.
Whether you’re considering surrogacy, supporting someone who is, or simply want to understand the experience beyond the misconceptions, this conversation offers a candid and compassionate perspective.

What does it actually feel like to carry a baby for someone else?
Not the version people post on social media. Not the carefully worded answer you give when a stranger asks at a family…
That's what this podcast is about.
Surrogates Uncensored is a monthly video podcast hosted by Jamie Davis, a gestational surrogate turned surrogacy coordinator at Gestacy, where we sit down with surrogates from all walks of life and let them tell their stories the way they actually happened. No filters. No sugarcoating. Just honest, open conversations between women who've been through something most people can't fully imagine.
Every episode, Jamie brings her own experience as a surrogate to the table. She's not an outsider looking in. She's been there, she gets it, and that changes everything about how these conversations go. There's no script, no rehearsed answers, and no moment where the guest feels like they have to perform. It's more like sitting down for coffee with someone who actually understands what you went through, because she did too.
We talk about what led these women to become surrogates in the first place. Their childhoods, their relationships, their dreams, and the life experiences that shaped who they are. We talk about the journey itself: the medical process, the emotional weight of carrying a baby that isn't yours, the relationship with the intended parents, and what happens in the delivery room when the reality of what you're doing hits you all at once. We talk about postpartum, which is one of the most overlooked parts of the surrogate experience, and what it feels like to go home to your family after months of being part of someone else's.
We also talk about the things that don't usually make it into the brochure. The moments of doubt. The family members who didn't understand. The physical realities of pregnancy and delivery that nobody prepares you for. The complicated feelings that can come up even when everything goes right.
Because this is called Surrogates Uncensored for a reason.
We believe that the more honestly we talk about what this journey is really like, the more women who are genuinely right for it will find their way to it. And the more people in general, intended parents, families, partners, friends, will understand and respect what surrogates actually do.
Surrogacy is one of the most generous, complex, and deeply human things a person can choose to do. These women deserve to be heard fully, not just in the highlight reel version.
So whether you're a surrogate yourself, someone thinking about becoming one, an intended parent trying to understand the experience from the other side, or just someone who stumbled across this and couldn't stop listening, you're welcome here.
New episodes every month.
