Sepsis is a common, life-threatening disease that requires treatment in the emergency department and inpatient settings. The Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) Guidelines are generally viewed as the gold standard for how to diagnose and manage sepsis. These guidelines were recently updated and contain numerous expected and unexpected recommendations.
