This campaign seeks to reshape both internal and external perceptions of Louisiana by highlighting the state’s assets and opportunities. Bourgeois emphasized the need to combat local negativity and instill pride and optimism, especially among young residents.

The third goal focuses on supporting existing Louisiana businesses, not just attracting new ones. Bourgeois stressed the importance of nurturing companies already contributing to the state’s economy. The fourth goal, “investing in Louisiana’s long game,” involves ensuring that state investments—such as in infrastructure and venture capital—yield measurable returns and help retain homegrown businesses that might otherwise relocate due to lack of funding.

The fifth goal centers on improving “ease of use” for businesses interacting with LED. This includes upgrading technology and relocating offices to more accessible, business-friendly environments. The aim is to make it easier for businesses to launch and grow in Louisiana.

Throughout the conversation, Bourgeois emphasized the importance of changing mindsets, telling a more balanced story of Louisiana’s strengths, and creating a business ecosystem that supports both local growth and outside investment.
