A university lecture is down in his cellar digging up the floor when his nagging wife catches him. She asks him what he’s doing and he explains that he is planting some rare flowers called “Devil Orchids”. She nags him about his barber’s appointment and their impending trip to America. He has no option but to do as he is told - as usual. On his way back from the barbers he calls into his favorite old bookshop and gets talking to a rather appealing young lady. One thing leads to another and before long the professor is contemplating murder.
