Courage is an indispensable characteristic for the believer who desires that God uses him in His service. It is to be both preeminent and irreplaceable in our lives. This is quite evident both in the lives of Moses and Joshua.

God is holy and perfect. Because His holiness, we should fear Him. Not only should we fear Him, but we should also be faithful to Him and thankful for all He does.

Our desires and our flesh will always be contrary to what God wants in our lives. It will take courage to put Jesus first and to humbly put our desires under the desires of Him.

There is a great dearth today of boys and girls having heroes that they seek to be like. Men and women that they look up to and desire to emulate in their lives. Oh! that we would have Godly examples (and be those examples) for our children to live by.

The believer can rest assured in this great truth, that the suffering experienced here on earth is meant for a purpose. That purpose is that the believer is conformed more into the image of Jesus Christ. We may not understand or like what God is taking us through, but we can rest assured that it will be for our benefit.

God has preserved His words for every generation that every generation may know Him. Today, we have the Words of God in our hands in the King James Version. But God has faithfully preserved His Word prior to the King James Version, and He has preserved His Word in other languages as well. We can rest assured that we certainly have the very words of God in our hands.

Peter is exhorting these believers who are suffering persecution to counter this persecution with holy, sanctified living. Why should believers be holy? Because our God is holy.

Assurance is something every believer has, because it is based on the power of God to keep one saved. Though our salvation is solely based in Jesus Christ, it is our responsibility to give effort to growing closer to Him. A failure to grow will result in doubting our salvation.

Did you walk with God today? In the life of a believer, we should naturally have a desire to seek Christ. The choice to serve Christ is no one else's but your own! What choice will you make?

If the believer desires to live a life for God with no regrets, then he must daily seek first the kingdom of God. One cannot live according to his own desires and wishes and please God at the same time.
