Suteki Jam

On this week's (late) Suteki Jam, GK runs us through the incredible music of NANA. It's a manga turned anime turned live action film about a naive girl moving to the city and meeting a punk rocker who shares a name with her. They end up living together, and shoujo hijinks ensue. 

While the anime is very good (you should watch it), the music really seals the deal with Nana's band having a number of songs written specifically for the series. If you're into contemporary pop punk, it's sure to delight.

On this week's Suteki Jam, Medium Well highlights one of Japan's brightest hip-hop duos - HALCALI. If you're expecting something similar to what goes for hip-hop in the US, you're not going to find it here. While there is certainly hip-hop similar to what you would expect, HALCALI is popular because they were able to fuse hip-hop structure with pop anthems. It makes for an incredibly fun time.

Medium Well is back, and he's brought something nice back with him. He retains that he's up to nothing, but it might be illegal to disappear for a week and then come back with music this good. 

For the uninitiated, CROW'SCLAW is a composer that creates metal arranges of Touhou music. He's done some Final Fantasy, KanColle and original content in the past, but Touhou is his bread and butter. Today's episode focuses on six tracks from Over the Rainbow.

On this week's Suteki Jam, GK highlights the work of two incredible composers on an anime he can't shut up about. That's right - it's Aikatsu, that children's anime! Specifically, this episode showcases the work of MONACA members Keiichi Okabe and Hoashi Keigo. These two were primarily responsible for the music in NieR and its sequel, and now you can hear the wonderful music they composed for Aikatsu.
