In some of His last words to His disciples, Jesus spoke of His longing for them to love each other as God the Father loved Him, God the Son. He told them that the world would know they belonged to Him by their love for one another. This is the high standard set for us who are believers. Outsiders should know we are Christians by our love for each other. Yet, being sinful, we often fall far short of that ideal.
