Nyia truly is a bright star in the big sky of wrestling's future and I could not be more proud or happy to host her on this platform and to give her an opportunity to talk in-depth about what she sees for her wrestling career. She's a dear friend of mine and a young wrestler-in-training with an incredible mind for the wrestling industry. I hope to have her on many times in the future, with the knowledge that she's soon to be a force to be reckoned with in the ring.

I asked Nyia to do this episode with me because she, as a black woman training to be a wrestler, has a front row seat to how race and misogyny function in wrestling, and that's exactly what we talk about here, prompted by the recent hashtags and social movements surrounding the Bianca Belair vs Sasha Banks Wrestlemania main event. We end up dipping into a few other issues too, including hyping up Mustafa Ali and how the treatment of trans people in wrestling is comparable to the treatment of black people.

This is a bit of a doozy at 2 hours and 43 minutes, but I promise it's worth every second to hear Nyia's phenomenally intelligent thoughts and takes on the subject at hand, and my terrible jokes.

Imperium-Ciampa reaction, Fastlane match-by-match review, the move to Peacock, and Andrade's release; there's a lot to talk about in this episode of Sweet Talk. Howdy, y'all. Bit of a downer episode if you ask me. I spend about 20 minutes talking about how no one remembers what a burial actually is in wrestling, and then, spurred by last Wednesday's events, I talk about how wrestling can bring us trauma as fans. 

It's a bit of a doozy.
