One of Sydney’s most charismatic DJ’s, Kate Doherty has been claiming Sydney underground dance floors for over a decade. Doherty’s sets are notorious for their sophisticated flair and accuracy; imbuing techno, house, and electro with funk and hip-hop sensibilities. Her energetic sets are founded in hours industriously preparing for nuanced and surprising sets, never far from the massive sounds of blackened-techno and industrial influences.

Her mix is book ended either side by mixes from our Swerve residents, this time at the front is DJ Cosmo aka Rubio with a super fun & funky mix to get you warmed up for the main event, then Tom Penny aka Nait Sands bringing the show home at the end with some real deep and dark techno vibes.

For your main this evening we have the absolute don https://soundcloud.com/akul_music blessing us with a super heavy feature mix, weaving wall to wall grimey tuna at a frantic pace evoking a plethora of gunfinger salutes, just as we've become accustomed to at his regular sets around the Sydney bass scene this year. A graduate from the first generation of FBi’s Dance Class program in 2015, she’s produced FBi’s Spin the Bottle program and is a member of Sydney record label Post Pluto. ~Skitz Ellie~ draws from a range of musical influences and experiences behind the decks from Sydney doofs & warehouses to the clubs of Tokyo.

Coming through with the probably the most forward thinking and eclectic mix we've seen thus far, Lazy Suzan takes the listener through a swirling, intergalactic journey of experimental electronica ranging from atmospheric soundscapes and hypnotic arpeggios to pulsating techno and broken beat energetic explosions. A collage of sounds that is as welcome in a meditative state in your headphones or early hours at a doof kicking dust through the laser beams, and in either context an all-consuming escape from the dreary normality that life can be.

Expect abstract sounds, wonky basslines and angular rhythms within a framework of techno, electro and house music.
