After learning about Fran’s Swift Story and how she relates as a song writer herself, they spend time mystical time cutting open the layers of this song in the wake of a rumored breakup. They look for the clues they didn’t see before about Hemmingway and Jane Eyre, before healing it fine in the end as they imagine the invisible string continuing long after the song.

Best believe we’re excited to be back in our Midnights Era as we break down the glitter gel pen track “Bejeweled.” Both Sam and Rachel admit how unfamiliarity bred contempt with this song upon first listen but they’ve since moved it from the basement to the penthouse of their hearts. They discuss the sparkling music tones (anyone else hear Reading Rainbow?), who might be to blame for making sadness Taylor’s whole world, and the powerful connection to Swift reclaiming the land of her artistry. In a word, we think this episode is “NICE!”

In this week’s episode Rachel comes Clean when she admits peeking at the Era’s set list. Then the Sibs celebrate their 13th episode by breaking down the 13th song off 1989 album “Clean.” They spend minutes and minutes of back and forth discussing the writing process with Imogen Heap, learn what boom whackers are, and from which London boy Taylor is finally clean.

All we can say is it was enchanting to record this podcast this week as we entered our Speak Now Era for the first time breaking down “Enchanted.” Speaking of Era’s, we gushed over Era’s week and how we are trying to spend forever wondering about the set list and not see any spoilers. Then it was on to the podcast where we remain wonderstruck at this song we never listened to before the TikTok trend. We leave no words held back about this amazing power ballad. There was also plenty of not so forced laughter and very fake smiles about Owl City’s response to “Enchanted.” Needless to say Sam and Rachel DO have someone else they are in love with, and it’s not Owl City. (It’s Taylor. Duh.)

In this week’s episode Sam and Rachel begin with a discussion on the approaching Era's Tour. Sam admits being excited to finally get to say “our song this week is Our Song.” Sam and Rachel talk reeeeeeal slow as they break down their first Debut album song and discuss the meta song lyrics as well as the country and teen song tropes throughout. They agree after listening to every song on the radio that this one is an impressive song written by 14 year old Swift, but it still has a few lyrics that leave them confused (lovin’ bed?) Despite that, they will play it again.
