Dog Days is one of those Lake of the Ozarks names that feels like it’s always been here—but the real story behind it is a whole lot scrappier, crazier, and funnier than you might expect.

On Episode 15 of the Swift Tea Podcast, we’re sitting down with Mark Barrett of Barrett Restaurant Group to hear how a kid from southern Iowa turned an internship at Tan-Tar-A into more than three decades of building some of the most recognizable restaurants, bars, and events at Lake of the Ozarks.

If you’ve spent any time at Lake of the Ozarks, chances are you’ve heard the name Shelly Flippo—and if you’ve ever been “Flippo’d,” you already know exactly what you’re getting into.

On Episode 13 of the Swift Tea Podcast, we sit down with one of the Lake’s most unforgettable personalities for a conversation that goes everywhere—and we mean everywhere. From growing up on a pig farm in Central Illinois and earning the crown as a Pork Queen, to landing at Lake of the Ozarks, falling in love with John Flippo, and becoming part of the fabric of the Lake community, Shelly’s story is anything but ordinary.
