Swim Safety Drowning Prevention
In this episode, Johns Hopkins-trained pediatricians Dr. Sylvia Bank and Dr. Vivian Carlin tackle the critical and often overlooked nuances of drowning prevention, the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1–4. Drawing from their sobering experiences in the ER and their lives as mothers, the doctors break down the five layers of protection required to keep families safe, emphasizing that vigilance is required both during active swim times and the high-risk "non-swim" hours when 70% of drownings occur.
