Masooma, Minura, David and Jenni count down through the last teaching weeks of the semester, SWOTVAC, and the exam period, to tell a few stories and give a bit of advice for each stage of the end of a university semester. They chat about managing stress and procrastination, figuring out where and how to start when you've got lots of study to do, and how to approach your teachers or peers for help.
David, Masooma, Minura and Jenni chat about what they're studying at Swinburne, and compare the differences between their courses and how their classes work. They also reflect on the unexpected and challenging aspects of their study.
Masooma, David and Minura take a look at Swinburne's new slogan, "There's More to Uni than Uni" to see what it means for students, discussing the benefits of joining clubs, volunteering and going on study tours as extra-curricular activities. They then head out to see what other students think of the new slogan and what it means.
Joshua from last season joins David and Masooma to chat about how he's going out in the real world, and how he's developing his career. Josh talks about his experience on a placement during his degree, then the hosts are joined by our guest, Shirley Martino from Careers and Employability to see what we can all do to improve our employability.
Minura, Masooma, David and producer Jenni tell two truths and a lie, then guess which is the lie, to get to know each other for the new season of the Swin With Me podcast.
Our new hosts Masooma, Minura and David discuss the importance of Census Date and what to think about and reflect on before it happen. One of Swinburne's Academic Development Advisors, Andrew Helberg, drops in to define Census Date from an official point of view and help the hosts understand it a bit more.
Joshua, Natasha and Leinard take some precious time out of their studying to chat about the final hurdle of the university semester: crunch time. They share some of their strategies for studying and completing assignments, and ask guest Dr Stephen Price from the Learning and Academic Skills Centre (LAS) all their questions about plagiarism and referencing. They then talk about the importance of staying healthy and active during your crunch time.
Natasha and Josh (despite feeling pretty rotten with colds) chat with Leinard and guest Paul Kneebone about how each of them procrastinates, and try to figure out why we all procrastinate. Along the way, they share some interesting strategies about how to avoid and minimise procrastination and increase the amount of work you can get done.
Leinard, Josh, and once-off host Jenni share their cultures and experiences with diversity, before chatting to Edward about life as an international student from Malaysia and how he has adjusted to Australian culture. We then talk with Olivia Doyle from the International Student Advisory and Support team at Swinburne about the benefits of diversity at a university and in the workplace, and what support and programs are offered for students by her team.
Leinard, Natasha and Josh face their fears by talking about the dreaded group project, and realise that it's really not that bad after all. They discuss strategies of how to communicate and work with others online and face to face, and what to do if someone isn't pulling their weight.
