  • Ep 4 Eating Out: Hungry For More

As a nation, we love to eat out. The eating out sector is set to increase by £5bn between 2018 and 2021. Whether it’s grabbing a sandwich or sushi on our lunch break or meeting friends after work, eating out is part of many people’s lifestyles and adds a fun dimension to their social lives. But as public consciousness about food and plastic waste, less meat, local produce, healthy eating and other stuff increases, it adds in pressure to the recipe and it can be hard to navigate eating out in a sustainable way.

  • Ep 2 Toast Ale: The best thing since... you know what

We are joined with Rob Wilson, Chief Toast Master (aka CEO), at Toast Ale, and award winning craft beer company taking fresh bread that would have been waste and turning it into beer.

1/3 of all food that is produced gets wasted, which is exactly why we wanted to dive into the topic of food waste, but also learn how companies like Toast Ale are doing pretty cool things to solve this global problem. Listen to hear about how Toast Ale makes a very unsexy problem into a very tasty product, from how they get the bread all the way to how they make their beer- we cover it all. We also chat about how their profits go Feedback, a campaign group working to regenerate nature by transforming our food system.

You can purchase Toast Ale and learn more about them here

  • Ep 3 Plastic: Life In Plastic Isn’t Fantastic

Plastic bags, plastic straws, plastic containers. It’s all we’ve been hearing about since David Attenborough's Blue Planet II. On this episode we want to chat about how our attitudes are shifting and the cool products and businesses out there doing good things to reduce disposables. But we also discuss what still stumps us… certain areas of our life seem impossible to cut out plastic. We want to address those too and share our weaknesses!

  • Ep 1 Fashion: Sustainability En Vogue

Fast fashion, sustainable or ethical - what does all of this mean? As it stands it takes 7000L of water to produce a pair of jeans, which is equivalent to what one person drinks over 5-6 years. As big shoppers ourselves we want to discover realistic ways to reduce our negative impact on the planet, be more conscious, and find out about awesome alternatives that don’t require breaking the bank or looking like a paper bag princess.

  • Welcome to Switch

Welcome to Switch, the podcast where we, Ashna and Lydia, open up the conversation on sustainability to inform and empower.

We want to connect real people to topics they care and are curious about, but without the jargon or BS... Having both been in the sustainability industry working with purpose-focused businesses, we feel there's an increasing amount of information out there but it can be challenging to make sense of it all. We want to explore how to embed these values into our daily lives in a realistic way - which is why we've created Switch.

Join us as we chat about all things sustainability-related and how they intersect with our daily lives - from eating out, to what we wear, to the latest technology and more. We also bring in guests doing cool things for people and the planet.
