SyncUp! is a professionally produced music and arts creative conversation and live performance show created to celebrate, amplify and preserve the stories of the people currently shaping and stewarding our music and other performing arts plus creative culture. Produced at the KPAO TV station, it's the very unique video podcast to document the history, traditions and every aspect of the city's current music scene from top to bottom, using an integrated genre perspective and music lens. It will be distributed nationwide and worldwide as an online podcast and also broadcast locally as a TV show on Channel 22. I feel music is the one universal unifying language of the soul. Hence, it is designed to explore the music, journeys, experiences, creative wisdom, and cultural threads connecting generations of artists, along with the storytelling of struggles, roadblocks, triumphs, and successes that inspire people, by bringing together independent, established, veteran, and emerging artists across genres and diversities, unifying existing genre and scene silos, together with cultural custodians and curators who bravely shape the scene locally and regionally.
Hosted by a computer engineer, entrepreneur and longtime advocate for creatives (me, Sasha), the show brings a fresh outsider perspective to conversations with artists, paired with live performances and an original house band. Produced in Omaha through my 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Hook n Sync Foundation, which is 100% focused on charity and charitable missions to elevate the music and amplify the artists, Sync UP! is part of a larger mission to connect the community with the culture and creativity and tremendous talent locally, regionally and nationally; give cultural stewards, musicians and creatives a platform and voice; and help ensure that the stories, knowledge and spirit of those who helped shape our music scene are heard, carried forward and inspire the next generation.
