Racism in healthcare impacts who is heard, who is believed, and who receives quality care. Everyone is not treated equally when it comes to receiving proper healthcare and the proof is in the statistics. Racial disparities in healthcare affects millions of minorities and countless lives are lost each year because of it. It is a systemic issue that affects many minorities, especially African Americans, when it comes to diagnosis, treatment, pain management and patient outcomes. In this podcase episode, I discuss how it has affected me personally and my fight to be the voice of my loved ones. We will not be ignored.
