System Mastery 250 – GURPS

Happy April Fools! Well, sort of. We were busy. We actually were hosting a quiz show thing on April 1st proper. So this early April episode will have to serve.Well I suppose it was about time. Let’s dive into the world of world creation by taking a hard look at GURPS, one of the earliest examples of the “Do anything at all” RPG model, from Steve Jackson Games. If I can post this right. My tech level is pretty low.

Movie Mastery – Robin-B-Hood (2006)

We take a look at a Jackie Chan movie that revolves around two professional thieves that become unlikely parents when they steal a baby. Hijinks but definitely not enjoyment ensues.

Expounded Universe 243 – Have a Blessed (Houghton) Ween

We’ve made it eight episodes in and now we finally get to see this commando squad do any commando business! The Wraiths launch a surprise raid on a secret Imperial window factory (editor’s note: canopy factory, dammit) and immediately ruin everything by using their call numbers instead of their names.

System Mastery 249 – Rifter 9 1/2

Happy April Fools! Well, sort of. We were busy. We actually were hosting a quiz show thing on April 1st proper. So this early April episode will have to serve.

Movie Mastery – The Ice Pirates

A swashbuckling, fantasy, space opera, comedy that fails to effectively be any of those things. But hey, it’s got a young Ron Perlman and Anjelica Huston.

Expounded Universe 242: PIGGY’S IN SPACE

The plan to make a tiny spaceship out of other spaceships continues, before an assault is launched, a captain is killed, and the Wraiths take possession of a super special ship!

Expounded Universe 241: 2 Fast 2 Folor

Finally some action ensues as our heroes face off with a bunch of TIEs, including a nickname for Interceptors we do not care for, then get caught in a complicated bomb situation that we’re still not sure we understood.

System Mastery 248 – Infinite Domains

What is this, some sort of generic universal role playing system? Some sort of master book to rule them all? It’s Infinite Domains and it arrived on the scene in 1996 to throw a new hat into the ring of “do anything” RPG systems, starting with a fantasy set of trappings.

Movie Mastery – Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)

Godzilla runs a victory lap around all of his various kaiju nemeses in this 50th anniversary film. Plus some added in aliens, mutants, and Mayor Hagar from Final Fight.

Expounded Universe 240: Fast & The Furious: Folor Drift

I bet you’re all wondering if they spend more time in this episode training to fly X-Wings. Well I’m not gonna tell you. Instead I’ll just say that Kell Tainor sucks and I wish this book was about Piggy.
