The Brazoria Hotel was one of the "finest" hotels in pioneer Texas. The hotel was two square houses about 15 feet apart. There was a huge fireplace at the end. A hole was through the roof to let the smoke out! 30 men occupied one room! One of the conspirators was a 16 year old boy! The 16 year old led LaSalle into an ambush were four other soldiers took out the Frenchman. The 16 year old rose up in the ranks after the murder. He lived among the Indians then was taken in by a Spanish soldier. A few years later he was killed by Frenchmen.
